1 dead in Jessup double shooting; suspect remains at large

JESSUP, Md. (WBFF)— Howard County police in Jessup, M.d., say they’re investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another man in stable condition.

Officers say they responded to Assategue Drive near Washington Boulevard in reference to a shooting that took place at a truck stop. Upon arrival, responding officers found two men struck by gunfire in the parking lot. One adult male was listed as deceased at the scene; the second victim was listed in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable at Shock Trauma.

Officers have only identified the victim in stable condition as a 57-year-old man from Baltimore. No additional information is available about the deceased suspect.

Detectives are currently trying to locate the suspect as his whereabouts remains at large. They are describing him only as an Asian man wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket.

Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Howard County police.

All roadways have since reopened.
