13-year-old arrested in mass tire-slashing incident

PIKESVILLE, Md. (WBFF) — Investigators say they’ve arrested a 13-year-old boy who is believed to be responsible for slashing tires on approximately 41 vehicles at a Pikesville apartment complex.

Police say the vehicle tires were slashed in the area of the Twin Ridge Apartments on Rambling Ridge Lane sometime between 4 and 6 p.m. on January 17. Two separate surveillance videos were obtained by investigators displayed an image of the person believed to be the suspect.

With the release of surveillance footage, police say an influx of tips started to poor into the Pikesville Precinct.

Police say that the boy was charged as a juvenile and has since been remanded into the custody of his parents.

According to police, the boy is also responsible for a January 19, incident at the Pizza Blitz restaurant on Quarry Lake Drive involving some seats that had been slashed.

The Baltimore County Police Department would like tho thank those that helped provided assistance in this case.

“Without the assistance of the public and the media, we would not have been able to identify the suspect.”
