Monika L. Thomas is a journalist who can shoot, write and edit all of her own material. She has experience with ENPS, iNews,Panasonic P2 HD, JVC and HLRD cameras, Final Cut Pro, Edius and Avid. She is currently enrolled at Mississippi State in the Broadcast Meteorology program.

Currently she is a Assignment Desk Editor for WBFF FOX45 in Baltimore.  As a journalist she makes an effort to find the story within the story, delving deeper into the issues.  While working for on the Assignment Desk in Baltimore, she has contributed to the growth of their digital platforms by working in conjunction with the Executive Digital Content Producer to coordinate daily news operations for website and social media platforms. She also worked extensively on around-the-clock coverage of the Freddie Gray in-custody death and resulting riots and protests in April 2015.

Monika is a DMV  (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) native. She received her B.S. in Mass Communications and Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University and her M.A. in Journalism & Public Affairs from American University. Monika is a member of the National Association Black of Journalist and the National Weather Association.
