At least 7 injured after car crashes through Dundalk hair salon Saturday

DUNDALK, Md. (WBFF)– Baltimore County Police say at least seven people were injured after a car crashed into a Dundalk hair salon Saturday afternoon.

The Baltimore County Fire Department said that one person was briefly pinned underneath the vehicle after it smashed through the front of the building. That victim was extricated and transported to a medical facility via helicopter while police say the female driver and at least five more women were taken to area hospital for treatment. All victims are expected to survive.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on German Hill Road near the intersection of Plainfield Road at Trendz Salon. Police believe that a Ford Crown Victoria was backing out of a parking space when it suddenly went forward, hitting the curb and driving through the front of the hair salon. Officials at this time cannot determine the circumstances that caused the car to move forward into the salon and say that an investigation could take up to several weeks.

Crews are working to check on the sustainability of the structure.
