Man charged with attempted murder after drug buy goes wrong
BALTIMORE (WBFF)– The alleged suspect in a marijuana deal gone wrong is now in police custody.
Jawan Armstrong, 30, of Eaton Street, is charged with first-degree murder.
He’s suspected in the March 16 shooting of a man who tried to purchase marijuana from him.
Baltimore City police say they pulled a car over that was driving erratically on Harlem Avenue near Edmondson Avenue. After a brief conversation with the driver, he told officers that suspect pulled a gun out and shot at him when he tried to purchase marijuana. The bullet narrowly missed him, just grazing the victim’s hat.
Officers obtained a warrant for Armstrong’s arrest after identifying him as the suspect.
Police say tips helped to identify where Armstrong may be found.
Within seven days the Warrant Apprehension Task Force apprehended Armstrong on Orpin Road.
He is currently being held without bail at Central Booking.
