Man charged in Lothian convenience store robbery

LOTHIAN, Md. (WBFF) – Anne Arundel County robbery detectives have arrested a man they believe is connected to a convenience store robbery.

Gavino Rodriguez-Guzman is being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center in lieu of an $80,000 bond. He’s charged with armed robbery, robbery and theft after police say he robbed the BWA Convenience Store on Southern Maryland Blvd. on Saturday, January 2.

Officers responded to the BWA store just before 2:30 p.m. on January 4. The storeowner told detectives that the robbery happened on January 2 around 11: 45 a.m. but due to a language barrier, the store clerk had failed to file a report. The clerk told police that the suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Last Thursday, police made a traffic stop and say that evidence related to the BWA robbery was observed in Rodriguez-Guzman’s car. Officers conducted an interview with him and executed a search and seizure warrant on his car and home. Rodriguez-Guzman was charged with robbing the BWA Convenience Store.
