Nearly 100 vehicles burned in NE Baltimore junkyard fire

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Smoke and flames tore through a junkyard in Northwest Baltimore on Sunday, sending a large amount of smoke visible throughout the city.

The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m., on Erdman Avenue near E. Federal Street.

Baltimore City Fire Department estimates approximately 80 and 100 vehicles that were damaged in the blaze.

No injuries were reported and no additional structures were burned. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters worked diligently against heavy winds to prevent the fire from spreading to a neighboring building, according to officials.
