BALTIMORE (WBFF)– Baltimore City Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a man who they say may be linked to two sexual assault victims in southeast Baltimore.

Police are currently investigating the similarities between two reported sexual assaults where women say they were approached by an unknown male in February and April.

In each case, the victim is described as a black male wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

The most recent incident occurred on April 16, around 9:10 p.m. A woman walking on Central Avenue approached an adult male in an attempt to ask him for information for public transportation. The man suddenly approached the woman and grabbed her by the neck. Police say he then forced her into an adjacent ally and attempted to rape her. The victim was able to escape and ran to local business to call police.

The last incident is reminiscent of a February sexual assault, in which another woman was attacked while leaving a subway station at the intersection of E. Baltimore Street and President Street. Police believe that the suspect followed the victim from the subway. The suspect grabbed the woman from behind on S. Eden Street and attempted to rape her. She too, was able to escape the grasp of the attempted rapist.
