Police investigate after child found unresponsive in creek

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A 9-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after she nearly drowned in a creek at Herring Run Park Sunday, police said.

Police responded to Shannon Drive near Brehms Lane shortly after 2 p.m.

According to police, the 9-year-old girl was playing with other children by the creek when she slipped and fell in. Other children on scene alerted an adult who then called 911.

When medics arrived on scene, they found the girl unresponsive. Medics were able to gain a pulse after they resuscitated her, police say. But she did not regain consciousness.

The girl is still listed in critical condition.

This is a developing story.
