Suspect arrested after aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
BALTIMORE (WBFF)– A Baltimore man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for an assault that left one man in critical condition.
Baltimore City police received a call shortly after 9 a.m Monday for an aggravated assault on Independence Street near Fillmore Street.
When they arrived, they found an unidentified man with trauma to the head and face. He was transported to an area hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.
After further investigation police were able to determine that the victim was in some type of altercation with another man which led to the assault.
A warrant was issued for Jerrod Baker, 36, of Mosher Street, police say. And they believe that Baker struck the victim in the head and the face with a wooden bat several times, ultimately leaving the victim unconscious.
Baker is currently being held in Central Booking and will be appearing before a judge for a bond hearing. He is facing charges for first and second degree assault and assault with a deadly weapon.
