Suspect in string of armed robberies arrested

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WBFF)– Police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for a string of armed robberies at several area banks.

Joshua Donald Burke, 30, of Glen Burnie, was arrested Saturday afternoon. He faces at least three armed robbery charges for each bank he robbed as well as lesser charges related to the three robberies.

The first robbery happened on March 2 at approximately 2 p.m., at the 1st Mariner Bank in Glen Burnie. That same bankwas robbed again on March 14, at 4 p.m. A week later a third robbery took place shortly before 12 p.m., at the Bank of America in Pasadena.

Anne Arundel County Police have been investigating the robberies since March 2, and are pleased it ended without harm.

Police are crediting social media reward money and help from the community in the arrest of the alleged suspect.

Burke has been transported to the Jennifer Road Detention Center with a no bond status.
