Could a universal voting registration in Maryland pass with tough opposition?

BALTIMORE (WBFF)– Imagine if every person in the state of Maryland over the age of 18 were automatically registered to vote.

It’s something top democrats may consider when the general assembly convenes in January. It would add hundreds of thousands of voters to the rolls if passed and there would be an opt-out for anyone who didn’t want to be registered.

But it faces tough opposition from Republicans; reporter Mary Mckenzie has more.
